This message is spray painted on the sidewalk just outside the Jefferson st. exit from the L train in Bushwick Brooklyn NY. The author apparently wanted to make sure that none of the hipsters missed it upon exiting the train. Many in the neighborhood agree with this statement? What’s your opinion? Is gentrification the new colonization?

This photo was taken on a sidewalk in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn New York. The comment expresses a popular opinion about the steady change in the demographic. As hipsters and college kids move in, rent prices rise and the neighborhood takes on the feel of a modern museum. As someone who has been in the third world for the past year, I find the contrast in lifestyle and what people view as important fascinating. What are your thoughts?
